OmniSent Conflict

• 28 WR- The OmniSent emerges with a dinner party, to which several major heads of state (most notable among whom are Generalissimo Celiose Cole of the Grand Army, King Kusader of Kuvalla, and the leaders of the newly discovered Gate Dimension: Lord Skull of Medina and King Doan Pendouris of Guardia) are invited. Rudra Tairen subtly hints, then later demands, that the major nations of the Web ought to give up their secrets so that common people everywhere might live in peace. Historians later would suggest that Rudra may have been forecasting the massive devastation of the Imperialist Era in her appeal to the Web's most powerful nations at the time.
• Doan stubbornly refuses, through several exchanges of correspondence between himself and Rudra, to which many leaders of the Web pay witness through the emerging use of Guardian computer communications technology.
• Roland Boderick sends Proan to kill Doan without Rudra Tairen's knowledge. Doan survives but is incapacitated. His son, Derik, takes over and embarks on a quest for revenge. He jails suspected OmniSent agents within Guardia, and demands that the Grand Army forcibly disarm the OmniSent. When Celiose refuses, Derik (with the support of Travin Rumanski of Scande) musters enough support in the House of Lords to remove Celiose from office. Giant Ants from Space would land across the Web shortly after, and they destroyed a lot of stuff, but later Celiose came back and defeated them. (take that, giant ants from space)
  • Sometime during the above, Valleyville is founded as a super-secret, high-security prison for OmniSent prisoners.
• Noting that the Grand Army is rallying against the OmniSent, Kuvalla, Foo, Mysidia, Tycoon, Karnak, Bal, Surgate and Worus (through their own treaty organization, the IJF) voice public support for the OmniSent. Much of the Web soundly ignores them.
• Rudra agrees to have OmniSent agents wear badges with lightning bolts on them. This generally made it easier for the Guardians to imprison them.
• Dain Kordridge, Premiere of Ticondera, and his cabinet put on the badges "as a show of solidarity", but actually they are all OmniSent agents.
• Roland sends Bane to kill Rudra. What is believed to be her body is found decapitated.
• Roland uses the Cylinder to attack a Grand Army base, Geno Dome, Toroia, Centwerp, and Thamasa, insisting that the Grand Army disarm.
• Roland uses leashes to enslave the Tanes of Aryth.
• In response to both the OmniSent's enslavement of wizards, the attack on Thamasa and the IJF's blindly political support for Roland Boderick, the greater body of the Merge Dimension's wizards rally around Alkar the Black and support him in forming the Merge League. Though largely a nation of peasants and farmers, Alkar uses the Rune of Othlorx to merit a near complete monopoly on the dimension's magic users, and the League quickly becomes a major regional power in Merge. Alkar becomes an outspoken critic of both Roland Boderick and Shane Lile, and the IJF's clout among native Merge Dimension powers begins to diminish.
  • After the Merge League's founding, the Dwarven Skull Empire emerges, and Tycoon withdraws from the IJF and becomes a part of the growing number of communist nations. Worus and Karnak would later become members of SRAN, Bal would join GATO, and the IJF would rapidly become (more) unimportant (than it already was).
• Roland brings an army of Arythian wizards to fight the Battle of Albrook. Manta is there, ready to fight, and Alkar shows up to provide his own magical support against the OmniSent's enslaved army, but it all proves for naught. Generalissimo Celiose Cole slaughtered the entire army with an Ultima Missile. - Title Fight
• Roland retreats to the undersea base of Atlantis in Aryth. The GA, Guardia, and Esper Union pursue, including Derik, Manta, and Celpo agent Beta. Marshal TO Halberg heads the operation to siege and destroy Atlantis, called Operation: Bully Pulpit. The Dwarven Skull Empire provides marines and submarine equipment for the battle, and the Merge League provides magic support troops to counter the OmniSent's leashed Arythian wizards.
• Faith Weist leads an Arythian army to free Aryth of OmniSent domination.
• At the Battle of Atlantis, Rudra is revealed to be Bane, Roland perishes, and Derik gets lost and becomes an amnesiac. The base is destroyed and the GA and its allies are victorious in 33 WR.
