Brief, bitter conflict in 42 WR that took place shortly after Vortigern Pax near simultaneously severed ties between Mysidia and the Merge League and moved north to conquer Silvera. Eblan was highly alarmed at these developments, as they had internal communist revolutionaries of their own, led by Ichiro Mitsuhama. Eblan launched an attack on Mysidia itself and besieged the city, launching many missile strikes including one at the Tower of Wishes. The Mysidians appealed to the Scandian League for aid; the SLCM-Sea crushed the Eblanese Royal Navy and a numerically inferior SLCM-Ground force led by Halder Skalice outwitted the Eblanese force and destroyed it. The Eblanese commanders, Shogun Tiberius Shiawese and Deputy for Military Affairs Nauquan Kurita, argued over whether or not to retreat; the Shogun, arguing for withdrawal, won out.
In the peace settlement, negotiated by Tally Quorsen, Eblan had to face humiliating restrictions on arms imports and faced crushing reparations payments. However, King Edge Eblana VIII later repudiated the settlement after an abortive communist coup, the March 16th Incident. Also as a result of the settlement, the Mysidian Commonwealth was formed, uniting Mysidia and Silvera's governments together. The original arrangement was intended to provide a situation whereby Silvera and Mysidia existed as equals within the new Commonwealth, but like Edge, Pax was not entirely loyal to the spirit of the deal. The Silveran leadership, which was grateful to Mysidia for ridding the islands of Lord Snoutwit, agreed to becoming a simple state within the larger government of Mysidia, and the rest of the Commonwealth was built around Mysidia's existing socialist government.
The conflict showed the inferiority of Eblan's conscript army and led to military reforms creating a volunteer force within EKAF known as the Mobile Corps. It also set the stage for lingering hostility between Mysidia and Eblan, and Eblan would later support the Porcine Republic. This in turn resulted in greater Mysidian dependency on Scande and the Protectorate for national defense, escalating SLCM's presence in the Crystal Dimension, culminating with the placement of a Scandian-built space station in orbit around Crystal III.
