So...more help question...how do I link to a category? Not write something so that what I'm writing about is part of a category, but so I could have a link to display all (for example) "Diplomats", or whatever. --Celiose 17:48, 22 July 2006 (CDT)

I don't know, actually. Generally linking to a category makes the page a member of that category. There are two tags, <noinclude> </noinclude> and <includeonly> </includeonly> , but I can never remember what exactly they do or if either is the answer to your problem. A work-around solution is to simply create a list page instead: List of diplomats or something. Check out the help pages on [en.wikipedia.org Wikipedia]. - X Stryker

OK, Travis, I found the answer and posted it on the Help page. Xstryker 10:05, 31 July 2006 (CDT)

What year was the OmniSent Conflict? Xstryker 13:12, 3 August 2006 (CDT)

Well, depends on what you mean...the omnisent unveiled itself to the Web in 29, but I'm pretty the battles of Albrook and Atlanatis were in 31 or 32. So figure 31 was the actual "conflict", when things started to get violent. --Celiose 02:09, 7 August 2006 (CDT)

Do Scandians make battlesuits and if so what are they called? --Xstryker 15:44, 8 August 2006 (CDT)

No, they don't make battlesuits. --Celiose 20:16, 8 August 2006 (CDT)

Do you mind if I have them make a simple prototype battlesuit for lunar operations? --Xstryker 07:44, 9 August 2006 (CDT)

Some kind of treaded vehicle or even a small Dracoform would be more appropriate--but if your plan calls for a battlesuit, then you can have a prototype battlesuit.--Celiose 14:33, 9 August 2006 (CDT)

I could easily see a modified moleform being used, but I need my characters to have maneuverability. I would have called it a Ticonderan prototype (I still can), but I wanted to have an excuse to have a Gant-sized model. So let's say this prototype is for Collective and S/31 usage, because a battlesuit offworld is stealthy in comparison to vehicles. This would be a relatively light, flexible suit. --Xstryker 19:04, 9 August 2006 (CDT)

Travis may feel differently, but IMO if what you're looking for is a light, flexible and stealthy suit, you'd probably want something Ticonderan. Since Scande uses dirty fossil fuel technology, and I can't see anything they built in the way of a battlesuit being anything resembling stealthy. Scen 20:18, 9 August 2006 (CDT)
EDIT: Thought just occured to me! You can make it fully Ticonderan no problem, and the excuse for having it larger-than-man-sized could be that it was built to accomodate a Tetujin. Scen 20:20, 9 August 2006 (CDT)
That's ridiculous. Why would a robot need a battlesuit? They are walking battlesuits. --Xstryker 20:50, 9 August 2006 (CDT)

Well, I should point out that Scande has very good stealthyt echnology; variously, their APCs, light tanks, certain spacecraft, and certain other things are various referenced as being stealthy (cause they're sneaky!). (Though not Dracoforms, but don't let the fact that the Dracoforms are the most prominent piece of Scandian military technology let you think they're representative)--Celiose 20:20, 9 August 2006 (CDT)

Another precedent for this is the armor worn by SLCM Biker Scouts (go look it up on the ON, it's under SLCM-Ground, under Light Horse, listed as "Biker Scout Gear"); although it's not a battlesuit because it does not have its own internal power source, it is armor that someone wears that's made by Scandians. (Further evidence as to the stealthiness of Scandian forces is in this profile as well, under Julian III Infantry carrier; in defiance of usual Kupopolis trends, the weapons on the carrier's new model were actually reduced to make it quieter.) --Celiose 21:29, 9 August 2006 (CDT)

While I'm on this subject, I would add that if it's intended for space usage, it would probably not have a petrol engine, because such an engine would require oxygen. Although a large capital ship might have enough excess oxygen to fuel a combustion engine, I doubt a battlesuit would. --Celiose 21:34, 9 August 2006 (CDT)

what theirsno air in sapce --JD 10:16, 10 August 2006 (CDT)

I have no intention of talking about the engine. :) And I've never forgotten that before the advent of the Dracoform, Scandian tactics were known first and foremost for stealth and swiftness. --Xstryker 07:20, 10 August 2006 (CDT)

N00b question

How does one create a list? I think we should have a list of military commanders.--Celiose 16:58, 11 August 2006 (CDT)

I'll get right on that for you, Generalissimo, sir. --Scen 17:30, 11 August 2006 (CDT)
Depends on what you mean by list. I think there already is a military commanders category located at: Category:Military_commanders
To include character in it, append [[Category:Military commanders|Last Name, First Name]] to that character's page.
(SIMULATNEOUS POSTING!!11) --JD 17:32, 11 August 2006 (CDT)
Yes, we psoted simulatneousyl> Anyway, I made the list. It's rough, but can be edited/added to as we add more to the Wiki. I tried to make a complete accounting of a very brief summary of each commander's career (at least, insofar as the ranks/titles and commands that justify the character being called a Military Commander), but some I may be off on/misinformed of. So feel free to correct me as the list is expanded. --Scen 17:51, 11 August 2006 (CDT)
Yeah, when I tried to post it totally gave me the "someone else has posted while you were posting" thing. ololol --JD 17:59, 11 August 2006 (CDT)

Scandian spacecraft

What is there in the way of freight/transport and fighters/scouts? --Xstryker 12:10, 28 August 2006 (CDT)

Well, they presumably have some bulk freighters to ship food from Merge, but nothing about them has ever been really established. For fighters, there's the Predator fighter, which was the original Commnuist Protectorate Space Fleet fighter; it was basically a little sphere with some guns. Its cabin wasn't even pressurized; someone inside it would need to wear a vacuum suit. After the Leviathan War the Scandians developed the Predator II which is described under the ON entry (although it may hurt your eyes because Sea, Air, and Space are all one entry.) It's basically two of the spheres of Predators welded together. Neither of these, though, would probably have the range for a viable scout. As I'm sure you're well aware, SLCM-Space is something quite a bit less than the premiere service, and so its technology will be kind of ghetto.--Celiose 19:47, 28 August 2006 (CDT)

Hey Travis, email me your phone number. --Xstryker 15:04, 15 November 2006 (CST)

I mailed you my number if you're still xstryker3@aol.com; let me know if you got it. (Or you can email me for it at TJRumans@gmail.com). I'm semi-tempted to just post my phone number, but then Admin might come and get me. Plus, I need to protect myself from the hordes of attractive Kupopolis groupies that would batten down my door.--Celiose 13:32, 16 November 2006 (CST)

Am I the only one having trouble logging into Proper atm?--Celiose 07:59, 6 January 2007 (CST)

D and I both noticed that sliver php wasn't working last night. Sliver cgi works just fine though.
