Edge is King of Eblan, and one of the most wily and duplicitous heads of state.

As a young boy, he was given a diverse education, what was believed to be the best training for a royal air. He studied abroad and played with the children of many of Eblan’s other royal houses. He married Esayla of Nabooru, a daughter of a minor Hyrulean noble. In 32 WR he became King after the death of his father, Tsurao III. Terrified that the revolutions that were hitting the Web’s monarchies in waves, he issued the Decree for Popular Good, launching limited democratization in Eblan by creating the Diet. It also called for the creation of a decent-sized welfare state in Eblan.

Eblan is deeply divided and faces many problems. There are several factions, including the old guard of the nobility, the noveau riche immigrants with much economic power but little political power, and large underclass. Each has a different conception of the future, and not all of them include the King. To stay in power the King has to be constantly appeasing one faction or another.

A major external threat to Eblan has been the external threat posed by Communism. Ever since the Three Week War, Edge has been unabashed about using anti-communist nationalism as a unifying force. He accepted a punitive and humiliating peace settlement to unify the nation. He then secretly engineered the March 16th Incident, a failed communist coup, which he used as pretext to repudiate most of the settlement and expand and reform the Eblanese Kingdom Armed Forces, including mecha forces.

In international politics, Edge has played a game of, "which you loves me more?" between Eblan's historic ally, Tasnica, and Coalition partner Guardia. He has dispatched Eblanese units to support Guardia's efforts to reclaim Bal in Merge.
