House Shiawese has always had something of a reputation for being an unconventional, forward-looking House. Tiberius’s father Maruyama Shiawese decided that his son was going to need a tutor from a country he believed would become very important in the coming age: Tasnica. The Tasnican tutor nicknamed the young boy Tiberius, after the greatest Kracian Khan Ultra, a name which stuck.

House Shiawese has a proud military tradition, so it was a forgone conclusion that Tiberius would fight in the Great War. He served with distinction, and when GACA was founded Tiberius became a Colonel in charge of a regiment of Regulars. While at war he married a daughter of the House Mitsuhama, and they sired a daughter, Sakura. Had Sakura been a boy she could surely have expected to become Daimyo of both Houses. Tiberius’s wife’s life was tragically cut short by disease. Her death began a rift between Tiberius and his daughter Sakura which only grew as Sakura pursued a diplomatic career rather than Shiawese’s traditional military obligations. This persisted despite Sakura’s success; she has become the head of Eblan’s Alliance Congress delegation, a post which makes her the woman with the most real power in the nation. Sakura became most famous for spearheading the GA budget cuts, a move Tiberius disagreed with because of his respect for his old master. Nonetheless, the Shiaweses have been cunning enough to keep their own internal feud quiet.

After the war Tiberius was offered the position of Sub-General, but he opted instead to accept King Tsurao III’s offer of the Shogunate, a position he holds to this day. Tiberius cultivates contacts abroad, particularly in Tasnica, notably Wild Bill Angleton (married to a distant relation of Tiberius’s) and Damien Gavalian.

Tiberius's reputation took a hit during the Three Week War; some, including House Kurita, blamed him for the disaster in that operation. He did, however, help design the post-war reforms in the creation of the Mobile Corps. Nonetheless, Nauquan Kurita was chosen over Shiawese to lead the forces of Eblan in support of Guardia and Bal in Merge.
