The Sprite Nopen Feanthas purchased this V3 unit to be her guide to the modern world. However, she forgot to purchase a Common voicebox, so it is difficult for V3-86F to make himself (itself?) understood, unless he is jacked into a computer. Even to this day, nearly a decade since Nopen first bought the droid, Vee-Three still does not have a Common Voicebox. Instead of making that purchase, Nopen has instead made the effort to learn to understand the V-series' language of beeps and clicks -- a gesture that has not been lost on the pilot droid, and has endeared his Sprite master to him dearly.

The V3 models are equipped with a fully sentient personality matrix, and over the course of years Vee-Three has developed his own style. He can be a little standoffish at times, even condescending; he views most of his companions as lesser beings than he is, though he has a certain respect and admiration for Nopen. He is highly protective of Nopen; knowing that, even after ten years in the Web she is still quite naive and far too trusting. V3 accompanied Nopen when she joined the Earthblade Mercenaries, and is the group's resident technician (and obvious choice for pilot, when they have such a need).
