Conflict between the various 'successor states' of Ticondera. After Dain Kordridge mysteriously vanished, his cabinet ruled a united Ticondera, but never enjoyed the same popularity as Dain. Massive Ticonderan losses in the Leviathan War destabilized the regime, and the New Wraith fed this instability. In 38 WR, the cabinet was thrown out of a helicopter by Gail Coudry, and the New Wraith used the Federal Security Bureau to further undermine the country's stability.
Ticondera was broken up into several smaller states:
- The Tasnican-Ticonderan Territories, or 3T, were acquired by Tasnica's intervention. The 3T consist of the Abdilene region of Dowaine, Belaine, and Telaine (economically, one of the most valuable pieces of real estate in Ticondera.) The Tasnicans have had to fend off a few border incursions as its neighbors seek to 'test its mettle'; recently, Tasnica hired the Moonslayers mercenary unit to beef up security in the area.
- The Duchy of Delvia formed from the Delvian islands, long an aristocratic lineage in Ticondera. Delvia has pledged to serve the Ticonderan Imperial Family, should they ever return. SLCM-Sea and the FTSR Waterguard have both engaged in 'show of force' maneuvers near the Delvian Islands, but have not committed to a serious attack yet.
- The Viper District seized control of the capital, North Viper. A brutal, military dictatorship, claiming to be communist. The Viper District has engaged in the heaviest fighting of the war with their neighbor, the FTSR.
- The FTSR, or Federation of Ticonderan Socialist Republics, has emerged as the 'heir' to the old communist government, earning the support of the Scandian League and joining the Communist Protectorate. They also gained control of SkyNet, a sophisticated satellite defense network, and the Collective intelligence agency. These assets, and extensive Scandian support, are why many analysts see the FTSR as odds-on favorite to re-unite Ticondera (if it could be done at all).
- The BFTA, or Brush Free Trade Alliance, is a free-market democracy on paper, but in reality is a corporate oligarchy.
Most of the conflict has been low-intensity fighting as the various states seek to prove each other. The exception has been bitter fighting between the Viper District and the FTSR. The Scandian deployment of Dracoforms in 41 WR allowed the Federation to make a big push and seize Patrof, but the Viperese stalled the advance with Chemical weapons (a move which allowed the Scandians to block their GACA membership.) Scandian support has given the Federation the upper hand in the fighting, but the Viperese have refused to quit yet and the rugged terrain of the area has made another breakthrough impossible so far.
