Verthandi is one of the three leaders of the Flying Fates JetBiker gang, and appears to be the most senior/highest ranking of the gang's three co-leaders. He is tanned, often greasy, and sports a thin mustache that droops over his stubble-bearing cheeks. He has a prodigious gut, upon which he has a Flying Fates tattoo just above his belly button. Verthandi often dresses in black leather pants, black biker boots and a black leather vest that he wears open to display his tattoo. His vest also bears a Fates insignia on the back, much like the uniform black jackets of his gang.
Verthandi's specialty is the Present, and he claims to be aware of all things occuring in the Now, as well as very recent doings and the very near future. Verthandi and the Fates surfaced for the very first time during the Cleansing Wars. Specifically, the first known appearances of bikers wearing the Flying Fates insignia happened immediately after the first Battle of Truce, as looting and riots broke out in several outlying prefectures with the fall of the Royal Government. It is not known specifically if this was where Verthandi himself first appeared, nor is anything known about the man before he surfaced as one of the Fates' leaders. He simply is.
Verthandi is a worshipper of Fate, and may even be something more: a divine servant, proxy or minion. All of his powers, physical, magical and clairvoyant, he receives from his Goddess, and it is assumed that he and his gang are working to advance the Goddess' agenda. He and the Fates were involved in an attempt to stop Madrigal from ascending to the office of Archbishop of the Church of Spekkio -- presumably, again, on orders from Fate herself. It is also known that the Fates have had some trouble in recent months with their shipments of pyra from El Nido being interdicted by what may be elements of the Doomguard -- a gang of primarily arms smugglers that operates out of Chorras and is affiliated with the Chorran resistance (which just happens to be headed by Dregoth, who claims to be the chosen servant of the Six Dragon Gods).
When not working in the service of the Goddess of Fate, Verthandi enjoys using his Seer abilities to cheat at gambling, or just take his JetBike out on the open road. In addition to his clairvoyant powers, Verthandi has a working knowledge of magic, and dabbles in its practice on occasion. He also practices a particularly brutal species of tavern-brawling, supplemented with what must be Goddess-granted super-human strength.
