The current Prime Minister of the Republic of Medina. A career soldier in the Medinan Armed Forces, Valphia has served under every leader of Medina since the days of Ozzie XI's dictatorship. Her record of service, and her heroism fighting alongside the Chorran Republican Army as a mercenary during the Guardian Civil War, has earned her the respect and admiration of the Medinan people.

Personal
Valphia is an imposing figure, standing comfortably well over 6' tall standing on her coiled snake-tail. Both her skin and her serpentine scales are chalk white in color, while her hair and eyes are coal black. As Prime Minister, she has made a habit of wearing her MAF dress uniform at all official functions and public appearances (which, due to her serpentine body configuration, means just a uniform jacket and blouse).
Early Life
Valphia was born to one of several clutches sired by the Medinan monstrosity known as Voth, a massive, magically-mutated albino Gnasher who served as one of Ozzie XI's guardians. Voth was said to have been 30' long, with pearly white scales that could deflect any weapon forged by man, fangs that dripped with acidic venom that could melt a normal man's insides long before the poison shut down his internal organs, and icy dragon's breath so cold it burned. He was a terror that was never seen far from Ozzie's side, and many Guardian heroes fell before the beast.
Valphia never knew her monstrous father; he was slain by Sir Toadus and the Masamune just before Valphia's clutch was hatched. Owing to her father's monstrous reputation, all of the Vothspawn were put into the Medinan Armed Forces. Over the years, most of them were winnowed away in the various conflicts and wars Medina engaged in.
Military Service
Valphia has served in every conflict Medina has involved itself in in the modern era. She served Ozzie XI in his various wars against Guardia, culminating in the KMT War. Though she was loyal to Ozzie, when Lord Skull's resistance movement came to power and formed the First Republic, she stayed with the MAF, and continued to serve Medina through the Hivan War and the OmniSent Crisis. After Skull's illness and "death," Valphia continued her service under Tyurin Cage. She served under Horga Kambor and, when Cage played his final card, found herself once again pitted against Guardians.
During the time of the Shadow Barons, the MAF was all but disbanded, and regional warlords held sway. Valphia found her way into the service of Sancho Dune, and would remain as his bodyguard until the formation of the Second Republic. It was at some point during this period that Valphia first met Eli Cromlich, a doppleganger, arms dealer and mercenary. Eli rendered several services unto Sancho Dune, and began a torrid romance with Valphia that would end with the Naga-ette nearly decapitating the mirthful rogue.
When Gorgon Wells came to power as the new Prime Minister and the MAF was re-formed, Valphia dutifully resumed her post as a soldier of Medina.
Guardian Civil War
As a result of the GA Budget Crisis, Rear General (and Chief of GA Air Operations) Gage Rizett found himself without a job. Gorgon Wells seized on this opportunity and offered Rizett a new position as the head of MAF. Gage accepted this position, and streamlined the MAF considerably; he put a lot of focus into building up Medina's airpower, the Strata Wings, but as a result handed out pink slips to many Medinan infantrymen. Valphia, despite her pedigree as one of the few surviving Vothspawn, was on the chopping block.
Fortunately (?) for her, Eli Cromlich appeared around this time. He recruited Valphia and several of her peers, and brought them over to fight on behalf of the Chorran Republican Army. Valphia served directly under John Dario and fought in the Second Battle of Port Toma, where the Chorrans managed to liberate the city from GDF occupation.
Not long after, a falling out between Dario and Governor Dregoth lead to a schism among the Chorrans. As Janus Cage arrived with his companions to stop Dregoth's ascension to become a powerful dragon god, Dario and Valphia (and the elements of the CRA loyal to them) turned on Dregoth's loyalists, giving Janus Cage the opening he needed to kill Dregoth once and for all.
Prime Minister
Prodded by Eli Cromlich, Valphia ran against Gorgon Wells for Prime Minister in 2330 AD (48 WR), just as the dust was settling from the Guardian Civil War. With high-level international endorsements from King Derik Pendouris and John Dario, Valphia became the darling of Medina and a shoe-in for the election. On Eli's advice, Valphia ran as the candidate for the Mystic Party; on Cromlich's urging, the Mystic Party softened its stance on humans and re-branded itself throughout the campaign as the party of inclusion and racial diversity.
Gorgon Wells waged one of the most expensive campaigns Medina had yet seen, but in the end he was done-in by two of his fiercest rivals: Mace Merthor kept the money flowing into Valphia's campaign coffers, while Dillie Bee (whom Wells had defeated in the Republican primary in 2327) campaigned on Valphia's behalf to ensure the colonial vote would go to her. At the same time, Cromlich brokered an arrangement between Valphia and Silas Jaggwing, Senate Majority Leader and Progressive Party stalwart. Jaggwing dropped out of the race early and threw his support behind Valphia, declaring that the Progressives and the Mystics would join forces in a Voth administration.
The result was one of the most lopsided political defeats that Web democracy had ever witnessed. On election night, Wells had a mild heart attack and had to be rushed to the hospital. When he regained consciousness the next day, he was told that he hadn't won a single precinct.
The New GATO
In the wake of the Guardian Civil War, a new Gate Alliance Treaty Organization (GATO) was formed. Comprised of the five nations of the Gate Dimension, it was largely seen as an effort by the Guardians to retain some measure of Great Power-level status for the Gate Dimension even after the diminishment of Guardia following the loss of Chorras and Porre.
GATO's ruling council consists of political, military and intelligence leaders from all five dimensions, In her position as Prime Minister, Valphia sits on this council as the head of the Medinan delegation.
