History
Vyslin was born to the royal blood of the Rodan family, who have ruled the nation of Rodan for the last 18 generations. By right, the first born to a family of Rodan is to rule the throne when the current ruler passes away. Vyslin was not the first born, but she was the only one of her family to survive long enough to ascend to the throne.
Vyslin grew up learning the trades of Queens and her responsiblities in Aryth after she ascended to the throne, but she also had a wild streak in her. She liked to sneak from the palace from time to time, and enjoyed drinking perhaps more than was healthy. It was during one of these excursions, however, that she met Cantar Oblvan, a runaway noble from Truklan, whom she fell in love with and eventually married.
Vyslin ascended to the throne perhaps earlier than she would have like at the age of twenty-nine, though that is old for a new ruler by Arythian standards. She was also blessed with child, Prince Melsh Rodan, who was next in line to the throne. Cantar died of a disease uncurable even by Arythian magic, and Vyslin continued her rule alone, although far from friendless. During the time of the Arythian War, brought on by the aggressive OmniSent, Vyslin fully cooperated with the other rulers to bring down the dictators in their land.
Nowadays, Vyslin fights hard to retain the prestige of the Glory Tower, which has overlooked Aryth for years, and also to maintain the power of Rodan. Times of change have embraced Aryth, and Vyslin is doing her best to remain vigil in these times of difference.
Disposition
Vyslin has a strong sense of duty and is confident, if not overly confident, of her abilities as a queen. Despite this confidence, she is still humble, and enjoys associating with the residents of her capital city when at all possible -- more than once she has been seen in the tavern closest to her Whiterose Tower, drinking many men twice her size under the table.
Vyslin is also close friends with Marien Othlan, and more recently Faith Weist, whom she employed as Lord General in the Arythian War. She is very friendly although prejudicial at times.
