Truce

The capital of the Kingdom of Guardia, founded in the year 0 AD by King Guardia I. The Kingdom once consisted only of Truce, but under Guardia XXIII the Kingdom expanded to include the whole of the Gate Dimension, excluding Medina. Truce is one of the great cities of the Web, and one of its largest industries is foreign tourism, for its old structures and classical architecture are a thing to behold. Always a big draw for visitors is Leene Square, where a fully functioning amusement park has been operating for 300 years (since the last Millenial Fair). For much of the last two millennia, Truce has been the most important and influential city in the Gate Dimension, though it had fallen into decline for several centuries until being restored by Doan Pendouris following the Syndicate Wars.

Today, with the Kingdom's territory spread out across several dimensions, protected by one of the most powerful space fleets in the Web of Worlds, Truce has the distinction of being the capital of one of the Web's Great Powers.

Truce is also the location of King Doan's Landing, the Web's first functioning passenger spaceport. KDL was set up in conjunction with the Republic of Tasnica, which shortly afterward constructed ports in Albrook, Tasnicaport and Centwerp. The interdimensional space transport business is still going strong, even with the temporary disruption posed by the Cleansing Wars.
