A holiday ostensibly meant to celebrate the mortal Terra Branford's ascent to godhood, the holiday just so happens to coincide with Yuletide festivals that Elementalists had practiced for centuries (and many Tasnican families will celebrate both festivals.)
The holiday is a feast of consumerism as people are encouraged to buy their loved ones gifts. A tree (or, in certain traditions, the house's Refrigerator) is ornately decorated in celebration and praise of Rainere. This incredibly commercial holiday could only be the work of the Tasnicans.
