Minos Breakox lived an ordinary life in Gant as a metal smith, until the arrival of the Dark Dragons during the Great War. Intent upon enslaving the Gants to fuel their war effort, the Dark Dragons made several incursions through Gant territory. Because of this, many of the free regions of Gant joined with Travin Rumanski's resistance movement. Minos was one of these "Free Gant" fighters. Minos had the unique distinction of being both a cell leader in the resistance, and a scout for the Celpo.

Minos was eventually run down and cornered by the Dark Dragons, the rest of his cell being slaughtered. In the midst of the chaos, a band of pirates stumbled onto the battle, only adding to the confusion. Minos used the arrival of the pirates to slip away, and together with a priman named Puffer and a Bleaker named Pete, made for shore. The Bleaker was gifted as a Shifter, and so the three combined forms and used Puffer's amphibious traits to escape beneath the waves. They swam until they found the wrecked hull of an airship, which Minos (with his machinist's skills) would be able to salvage and rebuild as the Blowfish Express.

Minos is the Blowfish's chief mechanic.
