A "mega" or "megapost" is a very very large post, often containing an entire story arc within itself. Megas are used to explore certain things at great depth; they are sometimes used for major plot events, other times they are used to explore a side story of the Kupopolis universe in detail. The first post to be called a "megapost" was Quiet Mining Colony, by Celiose, a post detailing Kuat's oppression of workers in an asteroid mining colony and the consequences of Typhon being found there. It has 25,000 words, 52 pages, (in MS Word), and was divided into 32 parts; although nowadays some Iron Writer entries are of comparable size at the time the size and the unleashing of an entire arc-in-a-post earned it the title of "megapost". Megaposts also often use One-shot characters. Megaposts were extremely popular during Kupopolis Neo.

Kupopolis Megaposts

Quiet Mining Colony

The first Megapost, Quiet Mining Colony starts out merely as a story on a 'Quiet Mining Colony', following several relatively ordinary miners through their travails with the Kuat Consortium (see List of QMC Characters). Eventually they are pushed too far, and the Seraphim Typhon shows up on the colony. They kick Kuat off the colony and all hell breaks loose as different factions vie for control of an explosive situation. Eventually, the colony is ordered destroyed, but Typhon ends up in control of The Celpo.

The Man Who Would be King

How Damien Gavalian went from the son of a chicken farmer to the wealthiest man in the Web mthrough sheer ruthlessness. Man Who Would Be King, incidentally, is also a trip through Web history and provide's a "Damien's eye view" account of many important events in Web history. It is interesting that Damien ended up with a whole megapost to himself since he started as basically a Name on a page.
