House Everhate
Founded in antiquity by Zhandura the Merciless, House Everhate has ruled the city of Zhanduril as First House from its inception. Its power--and by extension, that of Lady Ambika, Eldest and Most Favored Disciple of Sindrai'el--is such that none in the thousands of years of its rule have ever dared moved openly against it. More foolhardy souls might be inclined to try now. At the present moment, a chink has appeared in the armor once though impenetrable. The Everhate Thirdboy Solaufein, the Dread Lady's own youngest son, secretly worshipped Eilistraee and eloped to the surface with Kariza de'Camyras, the youngest daughter of Ambika's hated rival, Matron Ilivarra de'Camyras. Although House Everhate did not share in House de'Camyras' misfortune of losing the Spider Queen's favor due to the sins of their youngest child, the House has nevertheless lost some lustre. Someone (perhaps even an illegal alliance of several "someones") will no doubt try to take advantage of this setback.
