Deep-space Mining

Deep-space Mining is the process of harvesting minerals, metals and elements from asteroid belts, planetary surfaces and debris floating in deep space. The technique behind the process were pioneered by the Guardians, Tasnicans and Esperians in order to support their colonization efforts, and is still employed by those Great Powers to this day in order to support their increasingly expensive dimension-spanning empires.

Asteroid Mining

Through asteroid bases and planetside refineries, asteroid mining involves retrieving small chunks of asteroid rock and then processing it, breaking it down and examining the debris for valuable or utilizable minerals and metals. The operation is an increasingly valuable supplement to traditional planetside mining operations, especially in search of Magilyte and Dreamstone, which do appear to occur with great frequency in asteroid belts.

Gas Mining

A process pioneered by the Guardians, gas mining occurs in colonies established on gas giants. Gas mining extracts and bottles quantities of helium, methane and ammonia, as well as a rare gas used in the production of Enertron medical devices. The gases harvested in gas mining have applications in industrial chemicals, as well as in the production of non-mana-based lasers.
