An umbrella term for the races that originated in Gate Dimension that are native largely to Medina. The term is used to include many subspecies because it is believed by scholars that all of the Mystic races originated at the same time, near the fall of the Zeal.

Subspecies of Mystics:

  • Diablos - Gargoyle-like humanoids, complete with horns and wings. D'troth Alazhar, the Verteidan of Medina, is a Diablos.
  • Gnashers - Man-sized serpents; Gnashers are not a distinct race of their own, rather, they are the male counterparts of Naga-Ettes. Garrn Viperskin, the administrator of the Guardian half of Sanctuary colony, is a Gnasher.
  • Naga-ette - Serpentine creatures with yellow-skinned humanoid torsos atop a limbless snake's tail. Female counterparts of Gnashers. Valphia Voth, the current Prime Minister of Medina, is a Naga-Ette.
  • Heckrans - Large humanoids with enormous claws and ridges of spines running down their backs. The original inhabitants of the mountainous region of Medina that is named for them. Marchamont Bedlam, a leader among the Medinan colonists of Sanctuary, is a Heckran.
  • Henches - Burly, hairless humanoids with pale yellow skin and vaguely frog-like faces. Mace Merthor is a Hench.
  • Imps - Diminutive humanoids with skin in varying shades (most common are green, blue, brown and red, and mixtures in between). Their large heads are about the same size as the rest of their bodies. Lord Skull, the first Prime Minister of the free Republic of Medina, was an Imp.
  • Lancers - Avian humanoids native to the Denadoro region of Guardia. The infamous ex-ZAPS spy Osprey is a Lancer.
  • Ogans - Stoccky, bestial humanoids native to Denadoro. Known for their fear of/weakness against fire. Lemuel Grungor, ex-ZAPS operative and professor of Gate Studies and Military History at the Rhodes Palmerston school, is an Ogan.
  • Yakra - Rare race of Mystics devoted to maintaining the shapechanging arts of Mystic disguise. Every once in a while, a Yakra will show up in human form, sometimes in a position of prominence or importance. Archbishop Meres was a Yakra.
