History

Healah Meran is a well-respected mambo on the Isle of Malcovia, known for her skills with Vodoun's healing magics and other protective spells and wards. Known for her perpetually calm and serene nature, many people have nonetheless underestimated her, for behind that constant smile and kind eyes lies a mind like a razor. People who had tried to take advantage of her -- because of her seeming softness, slight build, or gender -- often wind up looking for missing pieces of themselves. Naturally, she would then happily offer to reattach them... for a price.

Meran is also quite the mercenary. She will gladly assist anyone who comes to her, for the right price. Recently, she lent some aid to Mister Bones when he came to Malcovia, looking for protection against magic spells. She created for him an amulet that would dampen magic used against him, taking in payment a sample of him (from a used cigarette) to create an undead simulacrum she calls Zom-Bones.

More recently, Meran vied for the throne of Malcovia, but when Brer Rabbey returned and showed his mastery of the Shadow-Walk, Meran happily bowed out of the race, ceding to Rabbey. She still looks out for the island's well-being, using Zom-Bones and an ensorcelled former drug-dealer called the Red Dread to stamp out the drug trade on the island.
