A chronic disease marked by degeneration of the peripheral nervous system; nicknamed, the Espers Revenge. Named for Mark Tuvin, the Imperial Army doctor who first diagnosed it. Believed to be somewhat linked to intense exposure to magical power by those unable to wield magic. Though the brain itself is unaffected the deterioration of other nerves causes the body to lose feeling and control, typically first at the extremities. In the early stages Tuvin's Syndrome causes numbness; in more advanced stages sufferers may lose control of limbs. They may also lose control of certain facial muscles. Tuvin's Syndrome is a slow working disease but ultimately fatal as the autonomic nervous system begins to erode and the heart and lungs "forget" to work. This can take many decades; Tuvin's Syndrome inflicts many years of paralysis before death.

There is no known treatment or cure. Although work in the 30s with cybernetic replacements and in the 40s with clone vats were initially promising, the replacement parts suffered from the same disease rot as the originals.

Those with the highest rate of this illness include those exposed to Ultima weapon fallout, users of X-Zone (or Reverse X-Zone) technology, and those with prolonged personal contact with Espers.

This ailment renders Torstensson Lenart unable to walk and confined to a wheelchair.
