A triumvirate of dark powers that together instigated the War of Threes on Alter-Mana. At the start of the war, each of the Three Evils pursued a separate agenda, and their pawns ended up massacring each other at the Battle of the Purelands. Following that disastrous encounter, the Three Evils and their agents decided it would be best to work in concert for the duration of the conflict, against the Kingdom of Forthena and the Alliance they had forged.

Thanatos

The self same Dark God as took part in the Great War. His agent Belgar Lightsbane was the most powerful Gingrim priest in the Alter Dimension.

Thanatos' connection in Alter-Mana was as old as his presence in Mana, though he never had as many Gingrim priests in Alter-Mana because of constant persecution of the cult of Thanatos by the Church of Wendel. Since Alter-Mana was, at this time, beyond the reach of the Core dimensions of the Web of Worlds, Thanatos expected it would be the perfect place to hide, as toward the end of the Great War he had begun to suspect that the Dark Wrath would lose and he would be forced into exile.

Thus Belgar prophesied that Thanatos would die or endure banishment, and so Belgar was urged by his master to seek out the Mana Sword in the Pureland, and use the wish it granted to either resurrect or create a refuge for Thanatos to escape his fate. To aid him in this, Belgar used his minion, the Death Jester, to win the allegiance of the Beast Kingdom, and sent them on a crusade to destroy the city of Wendel.

At the war's final battle at Mindas, Belgar used the Rod of Thanatos to manifest his master's avatar in his own body. The Six Heroes were able to destroy this avatar, and in the process they slew Belgar himself. Thus Thanatos' last hope of escaping imprisonment in the Place Which Is No More ended in failure.

Drakonis

Drakonis is one of the Mana Goddess' four Dragon Gods. Drakonis once attempted to subjugate the rest of the Dragon Gods, thus earning him the monnicker "Dragon Emperor," but he was thwarted by the Mana Goddess and imprisoned within the underworld. A generation before the start of the War of Threes, Drakonis had mustered enough stolen Mana energy to create a physical avatar, which he could use to escape his prison and walk freely in the mortal realm. Once he set foot on Alter-Mana, he set about the task of carving out for himself the beginnings of an empire, with designs of exacting revenge on the Mana Goddess by turning her mortal followers into his conquered vassals. Richard Mambrino, then the Prince of Forthena, and Sir Loki Ferrant of the Knights of Gold lead an army against Drakonis' forces, and were able to destroy the avatar. This victory was not without cost, however, for Loki perished in the battle.

Through his agents, Koren the Soulless and the Darkshine Knight, Drakonis sought the Mana Sword, and would use its wish-granting power to restore his physical avatar and allow him to escape banishment in the underworld. He used Koren to bend the Kingdom of Altena to his will, and for the first part of the war the Altenans were the Dragon Emperor's unwitting servants.

At the end of the war, Drakonis' second avatar was destroyed by the Six Heroes of the Alliance. The Dragon Emperor was then returned to his place in the underworld.

Inimigle

The Dark Prince, a demon from Hell who was consigned to the underworld by the Mana Goddess aeons ago for attempting to pillage the Pureland. Through his mortal servants, the Mavoles of Mindas, and especially his agents Darklord Jagan and Bigieu, he pursued the Mana Sword as a means of escaping his imprisonment. Unlike the other Evils, Inimigle was capable of temporarily escaping his banishment by possessing the body of a mortal human.

To help the Dark Prince acchieve his ends, Bigieu assumed a magical disguise as a human woman and seduced Flamekhan of Naba'al. With Naba'al's ruler under her influence, she masterminded the unification of the desert tribes into the Kingdom of Naba'al, and sent them on a war of conquest aganist Laurent, to capture Laurent's young prince for Inimigle to take possession of.

At the end of the war, Inimigle had manifested his own avatar through the body of Prince Elliot, but the Six Heroes were able to destroy this avatar and break the demon's hold over the young prince. Inimigle continues to languish in the underworld.
