North Viper
North Viper is among the largest cities in the Web of Worlds. It is the capital of the Viper District and the Ticonderan Empire before that. It fills the Lemele Valley at the base of the Viper River.

North Viper is known for its system of elevated trains. Each route is signified by a color - the Blue Line, the Red Line, etc.
History
Until modern times, this city has taken on the name of its ruler. For example, under Emperor Lemele I, the city was named "Lemele". Empress Salynae I was known as the Queen of Vipers, and by tradition every Empress who styled herself "Salynae" thereafter named the city "Viper". Salynae XXIII wanted to join the imperial capital with its sister city, Rablesk, so she renamed the two cities "North Viper" and "South Viper".
Dain Kordridge was once the mayor of North Viper.
Recently, the city went through a bit of an upheaval when two long-standing mob bosses, Miles Nickel and Charlie Diyme, launched a mob war against each other. Silk Street, the border between their territories, was burned and heavily damaged, and some of the fighting indirectly led to a bomb being detonated on one of North Viper's elevated train tracks.
Beyond the high-rises and squalor of North Viper, the golden sunset sank below the mountains, bleeding a cascade of color into the halogenic sky. The air was thick and dirty with the pride of industry and the bustle of a steel city at war. Clockwork public transportation - the timely elevated trains that passed overhead and the dingy subways - dominated over cars, but there was still a number of elegant black Pravz-Vipers cruising swiftly down the street in the twilight before the streetlamps winked on.
