Martin Olethros
A mountain of a man, Martin Olethros is a devout follower of Spekkio... or as he likes to call Him, "THE MIGHTY Spekkio!"
Standing six-foot-nine and carrying over four hundred pounds of muscle on a body meant to hold three-fifty, Olethros is a powerful man, which he feels is important in his devotion to a god of war. He was a proud supporter of the Crown, until the apparent death of King Derik and the Meres regime's rise to power. While initially supportive of Meres' authority, Olethros soon noticed injustices being carried out in the name of both the Church and the Crown, and became very vocally, and later violently, outspoken.
Due to his volatile temper, Olethros was sent to Valleyville, where his strength was put to use in the construction unit. He remained faithful to the Church, despite its leadership, and to the Crown, moreso when King Derik returned and defeated the Defilers. Tempers got heated, however, when several of these Defilers were imprisoned in Valleyville to prevent them from casting spells.
Olethros began a routine gathering of other prisoners in a 'fight club' of sorts that he called the Spekkio Circle. By fighting each other in regular one-on-one contests, their aggression was expressed without causing a riot, and without angering the Valleyville guards. When Bomber Harris was sent to Valleyville and assigned the house next door to Olethros, the big man very quickly befriended him and even initiated him into the Spekkio Circle.
During Malismo the Eye-Reaper and Brer Rabbey's riot and escape, Olethros took up his sledgehammer from the construction site and waged battle with Malismo, dealing massive damage to the rampaging Defiler despite taking a severe beating himself. In the end, however, Brer Rabbey stepped in and used his Vodoun magic to cripple Olethros' leg, ending the fight. Malismo, out of spite, ripped out one of Olethros' eyes as well before escaping with Rabbey.
Despite the permanent injuries (as his leg will always leave him with a limp), Olethros' faith remains strong.
