Elemental Fiends are lesser servitors of Dark Gods, usually employed toward aquiring crystals or something like that. They always come in sets of four, with each one branded with a Fire, Water, Air or Earth-type affinity.

Fiends of Chaos

The first set of Elemental Fiends belonged to Chaos, and showed up shortly after he was resurrected by Maitreya and Thanatos.

  • Tiamat- The Fiend of Air, and leader of Chaos' first set of Fiends. A large, powerful, five-headed black dragon with powerful lightning- and wind-based breath. Famously the arch-rival of the Esper Bahamut, she lead several Dark Wrath incursions on the moons of Crystal III. She is known to survive today as a patron quasi-deity of evil dragons on Draco.
  • Kraken- The Fiend of Water, Kraken was an enormous squid. He was sometimes summoned into the midst of Great War naval battles. His current whereabouts, or even if he survived the Great War, are not known.
  • Marilith- More commonly known as Kary, this was Chaos' Fiend of Fire. She appeared as an enormous six-armed woman with the lower quarters of a red-scaled serpent. Her status is unknown.
  • Lich- The Fiend of Earth, his name was what he was: an undead wizard. Frequently travelled with vampiric escorts. His status is unknown.

Fiends of Zeromus

This set of Elemental Fiends belonged to the Dark God Zeromus. They were brought into service well after Chaos' Fiends were put into play.

  • Rubicant- The Fiend of Fire, and Zeromus' highest ranking Fiend. He had been adopted by the Dwarves of Crystal III as one of their trinity of principle gods, but was nonetheless lured away from his divine responsibilities in order to serve Zeromus. He escaped banishment at the end of the Great War and returned to the other Dwarven Gods.
  • Valvalis- The Fiend of Air, typically venerated by Dragoons serving the Dark Wrath. Her fate at the end of the war is not known.
  • Kainazzo- The Fiend of Water. Appeared infrequently with Kraken during naval battles. Not known what happened to him after the war.
  • Milon- The Fiend of Earth. Mostly unremarkable; his activities during the war and his status now are not known.

New Fiends of Xaos (spelled with an X!)

A new quartet of Fiends exists in the Merge Dimension, descendent of a race of Elemental Fiends that once inhabited the Kingdom of Lonka. They are pledged to Xaos (note the fancy new spelling!) and sponsored by Alkar the Black and the Merge League.

  • Ravana- The Earth Fiend, Ravana appears as a large humanoid with ten heads. Each of Ravana's heads is reminiscent of a different beast: a tiger, a wolf, a bear, an ape, an elephant, a lion, a jackal, a rat, a baboon and a rhinocerous. While one head rests atop Ravana's neck, the other nine orbit around his body, and on Ravana's whim the heads will change or switch places. When Ravana speaks, all ten heads speak simultaneously. Ravana is titled "the Ten-Headed King of Lonka," and is the leader of Xaos' new Fiends. Currently he is imprisoned in his tomb beneath the Pyramid at Lonka. Once the Four Crystals (of Merge) have been gathered, the tomb-prison can be opened, and then the Four Fiends together can use the Crystals' energy to summon forth Chaos. I mean, Xaos (because it's spelled with an X).
  • Mandodari- The Air Fiend, Ravana's wife. Called the "Harpy Queen," she resembles a cross between a bird and a woman. She uses illusion magic to appear comely and beautiful; in her true form, her human parts are withered, and her face is that of a tusked monkey.
  • Kumbakarna- Fiend of Fire, "the Howling Prince." His aspect is the jackal/coyote, and he is a longtime nemesis of Worus' patron god Chacmul and his jaguar-kin. Kumbakarna appears as a canine humanoid dressed in black leathers, with a fiery whip clenched in his claws. He is Ravana's younger brother, though he is older than Vibishana.
  • Vibishana- Fiend of Water, "the Tentacled Duke." He appears humanoid, though his lower half is a mass of tentacles (which he covers with a long blue robe), his arms are also tentacles, and his face resembles that of a squid. Vibishana is Ravana's youngest brother.
  • Indrajit- Bonus fifth fiend!! Indrajit is the son of Ravana and Mandodari, and so mixes the Air and Earth elements into his profile. Indrajit was born a mortal, but was said to be the ultimate warrior because of his parents' opposing elements and his Fiendish heritage. In legend he was said to wield a stone club infused with his father's Earth Elemental essences, and a long spear infused with his mother's Air Elemental essences. He is presently imprisoned in Lonka with his father.
