"Dinosaur" is the blanket name for a number of species of large reptilian creatures that are endangered or extinct in most of the dimensions they are native to. Dinosaurs are related distantly to dragons, though most are of only animal intelligence and very few have the capacity to wield magic.

Esper Dimension

Dinosaurs were extinct for thousands of years in Esper before the time of the World of Ruin. After the sundering of the world, several dinosaurs were to be found again in a forest north of the Veldt. They are not intelligent creatures, but they are capable of wielding powerful magics, making them quite dangerous (especially the carnivorous Tyranosaurs).

TO Halberg enjoys taking his vacations in this forest, where he retains a humble hunting lodge.

Gate Dimension

Several species of dinosaur can be found still alive in various places in the modern world, despite the calamity that robbed them of domination over the world millions of years ago. Dinosaur species can be found on Giant's Claw Island in Chorras, as well as the Velorian Islands of Medina. There are also pockets of dinosaurs still thriving on an island in El Nido.

Reptites are related to the saurian family of creatures; they are found mainly on Giant's Claw Island and parts of Chorras.

Alter Dimension

The Bulettes of Naba'al's western desert are smaller cousins of other dinosaur species, suggesting that there may once have been dinosaurs on Alter-Mana.
