Baxter and Jaxon Dermal are the ruddy brown imp brothers who unofficially represented the Kingdom of Guardia at the first Robotics Tournament. Their entry was the massive, impressive G-Series Model C "Cavalier" centaurian mecha. Though most agree the Dermals' designs were sound, the Cavalier protype "Ixion" did not make it past the second round of the tournament.

The Dermals are known for their penchant for large, destructive machines. They began their career at JetCo, one of the oldest Medinan heavy machinery firms, and were then picked up later by Gorgon Wells' OmegaTech before moving to Guardia. The pair were picked up by the Guardian Munitions Corporation, and began work on the preliminary designs for the Cavalier shortly before the Cleansing Wars.

Work was stalled, then started, then stalled again as the Kingdom underwent radical governmental reforms, and the GMC went from being government-owned to being a private concern. Liking what it saw in Bax's design specs, the GMC continued the project -- with an eye toward selling the Cavaliers privately. The Robotics Tournament was to be the ultimate advertisement for their investment. Instead, the Dermals' disappointing performance reflected poorly upon the GMC's position as an arms manufacturer, and as a result the Dermals were let go.

Soon after, they were picked up by the Defense Ministry of the Kingdom of Guardia, on the insistence of Chancellor Khalid Morris himself, and commissioned to pick up the slack of Guardia's national military mecha program.
