Avalon (known astronomically as Carrion V) is a world in the Carrion Dimension, and the only other planet apart from Carrion III that is naturally capable of supporting life.

History

The Avalon Colony was established just after the end of the Great War (27 WR) by the Kingdom of Carrion in partnership with the kingdoms of Doma, Hyrule and Pandora, and the Dwarves of Crystal. This was done using the Kingdom of Carrion's space fleet, which was the first known instance in the Web of space-based travel (though the Guardians would hasten to point out that the Carrionese never developed interdimensional space travel).

Though for a time Avalon was the first space colony in the Web, the different settlements would eventually rebel against their home nations, and Avalon became an independent nation. The Avalonians selected as their capital the largest city on the planet, which happened to be the formerly Carrionese city of Grand Casar.

Contributions

For most of its history, Avalon has remained largely neutral, with its only interest being the preservation of its independence from the rest of the Carrion Dimension. Briefly, the Avalonians gave their support to Kuvalla and Ticondera during the KMT War, in the form of smuggling weapons and equipment to the Kuvallans. The Celpo would discover this, however, and the Grand Army was able to pursuade Avalon to stop being so ridiculous.

::Praxer has a report for Celiose.::

Praxer: Sir, as you know, we have been unable to get spies into Kuvalla with any degree of success. Recently, the Kuvallans have begun using a new cipher, which makes code breaking difficult at least for the time being.

Celiose:::thumbing through report folder loosely::Yes, but how did you get this report?

Praxer: We still have electronic surveillance cameras in some key points...they aren’t as functioning as well as they used to, but for the time being they are our only source of intelligence in Kuvalla.::leans over to Celiose’s desk, and flips to a certain page. On the page is a photo of the Dragon Dagger:: Although our information is scant, we know enough to know that it is highly unlikely to be of Kuvallan manufacture. Among other things, the proportions in some areas a bit off-which suggests it is being constructed by factories and parts that were meant to construct larger, human size vehicles. Our listening posts in Avalon have reported troops their conducting maneuvers with similar, but larger vehicles.

Celiose: Then we are betrayed.::naively:: What did we do to deserve this?...we’re the good guys!

Praxer: I have no idea, sir.

Celiose: The best thing to do, militarily would be to U-missile Avalon.

Praxer: I must remind you, sir, such an act would put us at war with Kuvalla and Ticondera before our preparations are fully complete.

Celiose: And we use up an IDBM we might need later...alright, I’ll handle this. You’re dismissed.

::Avalon.::

::GA Third Army has been withdrawn, and the GA base in Avalon completely wiped out by a Spitfire strike to keep equipment from falling into potential enemy hands. 20 Tacforteress strategic bombers sortie from Tunlan to Carrion and from there to Avalon. They launch 20 guided missiles each, which strike various settlements in avalon-but do not explode. These missiles carry a variety of items, including pamphlets telling the Avalon people in great detail how easily they could have been wiped out by now and alarm clocks with notes suggesting the Avalon government wakes up to the reality of GA power and cut off all trade with Kuvalla and Ticondera. Whether or not this show of force will work or not is entirely in the hands of the Avalon government.::

Avalon Today

Though the Roanese and the Manx had both asserted a forceful presence into Carrionspace, neither the former Roan nor the current Republic of Man have laid a claim to the world of Avalon. Most assume that this is because of the existing Carrionese claim on the planet, which extends now from Carrion to Tasnica (as the former is currently a Tasnican state).

Of the other kingdoms which settled Avalon in alliance with the Kingdom of Carrion, only Pandora and the Dwarven Underground still exist today (what was once Hyrule is now the Republic of Hyland, and the Kingdom of Doma has been absorbed into the Esper Union). Neither seems especially willing or able to press the claim on their former Avalonian colonies: Pandora has more pressing problems (being essentially leaderless since the New Wraith Incident), and the Underground has all but withdrawn from larger Web affairs.

Though independent, Avalon is not presently a member of the Grand Army Charter Alliance.
