Alastair Brand

A Defense Ministry bureaucrat, stationed in Truce at "Halfway-point," a Defense Ministry building halfway between the Bureaucracy Building in Trann and the GDF offices at Fort Arris. Hates communism and fascism too (i.e. Scande and Esper) but keeps the latter one quiet given his position. The "keeper of secrets" for the Kingdom of Guardia, as Valleyville is just one of his many secrets. He admits to working for the Kingdom before the reforms following the Meres regime, before the Defense Ministry was even established.

When Curt Decker was fired to deflect criticism from the Morris Administration, Brand was promoted to replace him as Defense Minister.
