Maerimydra

Maerimydra, the Dark Elven City of Blades, is less a city than a fortress located in the Upper Underground; its closest surface city is Agart, some miles to the northwest. It also happens to be the closest Drow city to the Dwarven territory of the Lower Underground, and as such, is fortified like no other Drow city. Dwarf skulls are mounted all along the city's adamantium gate, flying banners mocking the Dwarven Kingdom's colors. Maerimydra earned its epithet from the warrior priestesses who rule it. It is one of the very few Drow cities where Selvetarm worship is not only openly permitted, but encouraged as a point of pride among devotees of the Spider Queen.

House Saerl-Araeth, First House of the city, prides itself on its warriors even more than its priestesses, and Matron Mother Korathe S'raet (a young upstart who dispatched no less than twelve of her sisters and two aunts to claim the throne), is the finest warrior in the city. Korathe leads the Selvetarglin order known as the Handmaidens of Selvetarm, and has killed many an apostate Drow who dared turn from Sindrai'el.
