Magemask

Common law-enforcement device used for the restraint of criminals with magical abilities. A magemask is an opaque plastic hood that fits over the prisoners head, completely cutting off his sight to the outside world. A gag-tube allows the magician to breath normally, but leaves him unable to speak. Additionally, the mask contains a white noise generator that creates static to interfere with the magic user's concentration. Magemasks are used in conjunction with handcuffs (or even straitjackets in extreme cases.

Magemasks are a short-term measure; long-term incarceration usually involves drugs to interfere with the magician's concentration. Whether or not this interferes with the prisoner's rights is an ongoing legal battle, particularly in the Tasnica Republic and elsewhere.
