History By 78 WR, Damien Arnason Gavalian was over a century old, although he did not look it. It was becoming apparent to him that his forty-year old daughter would never be able to take the helm of Kuat, so he sired another heir, but this time he kept most of the genetic tampering out. Damien Walker Gavalian was born, and he was far more ruthless than his sister--the quality Damien Senior valued in business leaders the most. Dubya got through most of the best colleges on his father’s influence. In 102, with the death of his father, Damien Walker became CEO of Kuat Consortium. His father had a plan to bring all the major corporations of the Web under the control of Kuat, a vast work that was only half done at the time of his death. Since he didn’t have time to streamline the new corporations, Dubya inhereted an inefficent Kuat and never made any serious attempts at reogranization. For example, Forge Mechanicals still retains its old structure as Kuat Mechanicals, but with an added level of bureacracy. The bloated and inefficent workings of the modern Kuat Consortium is one of the causes of the depression. Dubya engineered Tasnica’s involvement with the Triad, and has given Tasnican forces access to technology previously available only to the Grand Army. Junior often visits the offices of division managers and makes their lives generally miserable by micromanagement and accusations. He does this not to improve Kuat, but because he likes it. He enjoys hunting more for the killing than the sport. His megalomania is even greater than his father’s.
