South Chorras Technical Institute
A practical college where math, science and "real world" skills are taught, this by-the-book university is among the largest campuses in Guardia. It is also among the most conservative; South Chorras is a spawning ground for degrees in political science which are bent decidedly to the right. This is the one school that is the closest to being privatized; local government keeps it from a good deal of the scrutiny paid to other campuses, and though good intentions run high the school is among the worst in the Kingdom as far as general education goes. Like Truce College and PASA, South Chorras maintains a capable science department... though students and staff at Truce have a tendency to look down their noses at SCTI`s "laughable" Engineering program. Whatever you say about SCTI`s academics, the school has adapted the best to the phenomenon of competitive college team atheletics, in particular basketball and football (owing to the fact that the campus fencing team [disbanded two years ago] sucked worse than Foo [whose fencing team was disbanded before Guardia even came into the Web of Worlds]). SCTI`s football team, the Ghost Knights, is being lead to victory this year by its star quarterback, sophomore John Dario. The clean-cut, hard-edged Dario is the Celiose of football tactics and maneuvers, and it`s said he has an arm like a Giga Merton cannon. Even off-campus, Dario is rarely seen out of his gold-and-white Ghost Knights jerzee and letterman jacket (the team`s colors are coincidentally the same as those of the Grand Army`s; they`ve been SCTI`s banner colors for generations), and he cuts an imposing figure, standing at 7`3" tall (almost completely muscle). His major is advanced mathematics, and comentators joke that, after school, he can either go pro or look forward to a promising career in the military or politics. Dario is largely silent and does not give interviews. While good competition is hard to find among other Guardian teams (the biggest rivalry the Ghost Knights have is with Trann University`s Penmen; but even they have only beaten SCTI once in the last four years), the school is looking to branch out and possibly compete in some of the major battledomes of the Esper Dimension.
