Elektra was born in the year 2299, in the midst of her father Doan's attempt to dissolve the Syndicates and place himself on the throne of Guardia. By all rights, she should not exist at all: she is actually the clone of Doan's unborn son, who died along with his mother after she suffered grievous injuries in an attempted assassination by Doan's rivals in the Trann Syndicate. Elektra does not know she was created rather than born, nor that her life began almost a full two years after her mother died: she was told that her mother died from complications of childbirth because of her injuries from the assassination attempt.
Doan doted on Elektra obsessively. Knowing nothing but royalty and the life of a princess, Elektra grew up spoiled and bratty. Doan did nothing to curb this inclination; it was only with the intercession of Rudra Tairen (who became the girl's surrogate "big sister") that she eventually levelled out. Tomboyish from an early age, Doan taught Elektra fencing and mechanics. They built their first JetBike together when she was 8, and she was allowed to accompany Sir Toadus on combat drills with the Knights at age 10.
Elektra, unlike her "brother" Derik, has never had a taste of the power of the throne. Socially conservative elements of Guardian society prevented her from ascending to the position of Regent when Doan was incapacitated by an OmniSent assassination attempt in 2312; in her place the Archbishop Meres was allowed to ascend.
Shortly after Doan's recovery, he embarked with Lord Skull of Medina on the "Pandora Project" -- a surprise birthday party for King Margayya Pandora. At this party Elektra met Margayya's son Raju, and the two became very close. So close, in fact, that Raju was forced by both fathers to marry Elektra (as she was slightly pregnant as a result of their closeness).
This pregnancy would end in a miscarriage. While Elektra does not yet realize it, she is unable to bear children (cloning ain't perfect, it turns out). Even so, Raju and Elektra remain married and very much in love, though they have not attempted to conceive again since the miscarriage.
In 2322 AD, a creature calling itself only the Warbringer came to Guardia and abducted Elektra. He made no demands, nor did he give any hint that there was any condition under which the Princess would be returned. Doan charged his companions Robo and Johnny, and the five Knights of the Square Table to find the Warbringer's lair and rescue Elektra. They did so, and a battle ensued, in which Elektra played a small role once she had been freed. Robo and Johnny both died in the ensuing melee, and Sir Toadus was gravely wounded shielding the Princess from one of the Warbringer's spells. Toadus slew the Warbringer with the Masamune, but died of his injuries shortly after he returned with Elektra to Guardia Castle. His dying wish was that Doan elevate Elektra to his place as Knight Captain when he was gone. Doan agreed to this -- making a bitter enemy of Sir Scorpius, who had expected to be next-in-line.
Elektra served her father as Knight Captain and custodian of the Masamune up until the Fall of Truce in 2331 AD, when she, her father and Raju escaped with Malcolm Quinn to the main Kupopolis timeline.
