The Mobile Corps is the name for the force instituted after Eblan's humiliating defeat in the Three Week War. The old army remained, designated the Territorial Army; it was stripped of much of its heavy equipment to pay for the cost of the Mobile Corps. The Mobile Corps was a radical reform for Eblan in two ways. First, it was an all-volunteer force; Eblan had concluded that the low morale of draftees was a decisive part of their defeat in the three-week war. Second, it allowed Provisionals to serve for the first time, and, upon completing a term of service, earn citizenship for their family.
The Mobile Corps consists of twelve regiments. Four are mecha, four are mechanized infantry, and four are 'light' units designed for quick actions. Most of the equipment is made by the Kuat Consortium.
