There are a few expeditions and adventurers seeking wealth or treasure in the interior, and a handful of 'wildcat' mining operations, but the desert has remained largely uncolonized. The large exception to this is the native Machangu people, who survive in the desert as they have for thousands of years.
Thus, most of the population centers are on the coast, or near a handful of oasis.
Queen Khandra Nhouri the mistake of pissing off Tasnica in the Leviathan War. The Kakkaran Fremen Kremer fought the vastly larger Tasnican forces to a standstill. Tasnica spent more on its invasion then Kakkara's GDP. He eventually negotiated a peace, offering to turn over the Queen in exchange for an assurance of the country's continued independence. The Nhouri dynasty was retained as a figurehead, and real power was handed over to an elected Prime Minister and Senate.
The Tasnicans meddles much less in Kakkara then it does in Pandora, but still place a premium on maintaining friendly relations since the Leviathan War. The two countries are not formally allied, but the rest of the Web is well aware Tasnica would brook no aggression against either of the other countries of the Mana Dimension.
Current Kakkaran Prime Minister Naij Haydron, a former Elementalist priest, is mainly focused on promoting economic development and tourism.
