World of Light

The World of Light was so named by the Hylians who dominated it, after the Golden Power they came to rule it with.

The Hylian Empire covered the entirety of the great Eastern continent and the islands which surrounded it, as well as about half of the Ticonderan continent in the west. The barbarian kingdoms of Karanda and Melenam alone refused to submit to the rule of the Hylians, and the Hylians decided to leave them alone for the most part, thinking the wastelands they inhabited to not be worth the trouble.
