"Von" is a prefix that Tasnicans sometimes take in place of their middle name to show their high social status. By taking 'von', a Tasnican is basically saying, "Look at me! I am really great!" This is a fad that falls in and out of fashion in Tasnican society. In the time of Proper, it is largely out of vogue and considered extremely poor taste. In Neo, however, it is somewhat more common; Salomo von Konigs is probably the best example of a Tasnican to adopt this quirk.
