Loose association of pirates, smugglers, and people participating in space-based illegal activities. Operate mostly in the Fringe.

Although a major menace in much of the thirties, in the forties increased pirate-hunting efforts by the Great Powers, SRAN, and SAGA made space travel in Alter and Merge much safer.

Famous Captains of the Unbound

• Talina Svensgaard- The Tigress herself, many erroneously credit Talina as the "founder" of the Unbound, if only because she is the most infamous space pirate of the Fringe. Has not been active for several years; her current whereabouts are unknown.
• Marbles Marlowe- An eccentric undead sea captain who made the leap into space piracy some years ago. Sometime after Talina's disappearance, Marlowe claimed "leadership" of the Unbound by gathering a number of like-minded pirate captains together for a raid on the Gatian colony of Redemption in the Merge Dimension. Is reputed to be based out of "Crevora's Cove," though none are sure of exactly where this is.
• Horus the Burning- A red-furred moogle space pirate, known for his incredible psionic powers. Was captured by a bounty hunter and turned over to Guardian custody. He currently remains imprisoned.
