Seltzer Ray

The Seltzer Ray is one of the traditional weapons of the semi-nomadic clowns of Foo. It is comprised of a glass bottle filled with a Dark Matter extract, topped with a metal nozzle that is operated by way of a lever.

Aesthetically modeled after a seltzer bottle, the Seltzer Ray converts the liquid Dark Matter extract into an energy beam, which fires when the nozzle's lever is depressed. The beams produced by the Seltzer Ray are somewhat weak, as the machinery of the ray's nozzle-top is somewhat crude by modern Web standards. Still, the Seltzer Ray was never meant to be used in contention with other technologically advanced nations of the Web of Worlds; rather, it is used by the Foolish clowns for defense against the wild circus animals and Dark Matter mutants that roam the broken lands of Foo.

Spent Seltzer Rays are sometimes filled with carbonated water and used in traditional Foo slapstick routines (or possibly also for beverage service).
