Hedilla is the second most senior of the High Priests, and after Valina is the most powerful reptite female in recent memory. She is more skeptical and suspicious of Dregoth than Zalara, on some level unable to accept that the Six Gods would choose a human to complete them. The three High Priests of the Reptites have become Dregoth's closest cabal of advisors since his coming to Chorras. They are the spiritual leaders -- and with the death of Queen Valina, are now the only leaders -- of the reptites. They have pledged themselves and the reptite people to Dregoth's service, and follow him with a religious devotion unseen in any other racial group in the Web of Worlds.

The reptites have survived for millions of years beneath the earth's surface. They relied on geothermal heat and power to protect them during the ice age, and remained obscure even after that terrible time for fear of their human nemeses, who had somehow managed to flourish and spread to every corner of the world while the reptites languished and endured hardship and famine.

It was during the Ice Age that religion came to the reptites. The most ancient reptite records state that the man who would become the first High Priest, Tanala, beheld a vision of the Six Gods, and while in the Dreamstate he penned the Draconomicon, the holy book of the reptites in their worship of the Dragon Gods.

From that time, the Priests have always ruled the reptites, though for a period of one hundred years a Queen chosen by the Gods ruled. She was slain by Dregoth, who in doing so displayed to the reptite people that he was now the Dragons' chosen.

Zalara is the oldest and most senior of the three High Priests. He has Dregoth's ear most of the time, and occassionally Dregoth even listens to him. But mostly, Zalara obeys Dregoth's wishes and follows his plan, for it is Dregoth who is touched by the Six Gods, and it is Dregoth's will that will bind the Six into the One. Zalara is a devout and loyal man who has the best interests of his faith and his people at heart at all times; he trusts Dregoth and believes he is capable of no evil. He also fears Dregoth as a mortal fears a God, for surely only a God could have struck down Queen Valina in the caves under the Giant's Claw. Zalara bears two blessings: the Light of Yryadyr, and the Shadow of Enkhepsis. Zalara prefers Light magic, but understands the balance of the One God and makes use of Shadow magic when he has to, not fearing to tap it, beacause he knows the One God is righteous. When forced to do so, Zalara can use Shadow magic to melt faces.

Hedilla is the second most senior of the High Priests, and after Valina is the most powerful reptite female in recent memory. She is more skeptical and suspicious of Dregoth than Zalara, on some level unable to accept that the Six Gods would choose a human to complete them. She has little authority to question Zalara, however, and so she tows his line for now. Hedilla commands the elements of Fire and Water, having possession of the blessings of Pyreen and Tl'uguthra.

Demma holds the least power of the three. Most of the time, it seems he's just kind of there; he rarely speaks or contributes to the triumvirate of Hgh Priests. But every once in a while he says something brilliant, accidental or not, and that seems to justify his place in the scheme of things. Demma commands the elements of Nature, wielding the energies of Earth, Wind, Lightning and Plants. He possesses the blessings of Drythma'ar and Shilzaer.
