Project Design Star
Project Design Star is a hugely popular Tasnican reality TV program in which twelve up and coming fashion designers compete in a variety of challenges to showcase their design skills, generally limited by time, materials, or a specific theme. The designers are whittled down in a progressive elimination format until two are left, who must design an entire collection to show at Centwerp Fashion Week. The winner of the contest gets a sizable sum of money and mentoring to start their own fashion house, a feature spread in Runway magazine, and various advertising deals.
Hosted by the famous Tasnican supermodel Elsa Krause, PDS ran for five successful seasons on TNN, until contract disputes between the producers and TunaCorp led them to strike a deal with Bahamut WEB for an undisclosed sum.
Aside from Ms. Krause, there are two regular judges on the panel:
-Award winning fashion designer Michel Bors, derisively referred to as the "Tangerine Queen" for his rather unfortunate addiction to spray tans, but is a fan favorite for the viciously hilarious and catty insults he comes up with.
-Associate editor for Runway magazine, Maria Vardala, who is mostly famous for making contestants cry with just a glance.
Guest judges tend to be either really famous designers, such as the eccentric Winlanese rock star-turned designer Laurent de Leoncoeur, or starlets and teen idols with exceptionally bad taste, like Princess Jacinda of Hyrule, and Bertha Javelins.
