Penance is an Anox Vi and is currently in control of Triangle Island, though the web believes it to be in the hands of Clan Darksmouth. She appears to be a fragile young girl of an indeterminate age, perhaps somewhere between mid to late teens, though she is in fact old nearly beyond all reckoning. She is new to the web, having been allowed in by Eramus d'Vanth et Myhraal, and has designs on conquering the lot of it.
Despite her age she is often prone to acting more along the lines of how old she looks, subjects to fits of whim and hissy fits when things don't go her way. She recently became aware that her brother had been reborn in Carrion through some process of which she is unaware, which troubles her greatly.
The only Anox Vi in the web, other than Penance herself, are those subordinated to her and to her blood. Having her brother involved is troubling because he is not subordinate to her, unless she makes it so by force. Which she has been unable to do since he has thus far refused all summons.
