Elias Teris is the head of a minor House in the outlying districts of Meronda. He styles himself a much more important man than he really is and he is a notoriously poor excuse for a merchant.

House Rowen

Rowen was much more powerful and influential in ancient days, but by the time of the formation of the Jidoran Federation they ruled over very little beyond the gated grounds of their own hereditary estates. More recently, their fortunes nearly gone, they were forced to take up merchant trades, maintaining a small fleet of leaky vessels and a single, worm-eaten airship. Elias is constantly looking for ways to improve the fortunes of his House and dreams of one day wearing the Lily Crown.

Personality

Elias is a man with a strong penchant for wine, food and women — much to the disapproval of his wife, who he married as part of a marriage-alliance, a match made when he was still an infant. He is incredibly delusional regarding nearly everything about himself, seeming to think he isn’t a fat, powerless nobody who is terrible at negotiating trade deals, which, in fact, describes him perfectly.

The Wormwood

Wormwood is a old, outdated airship that is the only airship owned by House Rowen. It is slow, can’t raise itself off the ground more than ten feet, and belches black smoke wherever it goes. The spirit bound within it has grown senile and ornery and will periodically take control of the vessel, resulting in a terrifying and unpredictable ride for anyone contained within. It has a twenty foot beam, is single-masted and cutter-rigged.

It was purchased by Elias who paid far too much for it. Its main use is as a pleasure craft, as its plodding pace and low flight altitude make it unsuitable for any other use.
