Edmond Dour is a freelance ranger, making his living hunting dangerous wildlife and protecting travelers between towns and villages on Avalon. He often works in the company of Willard Grimaldi. He has a grim outlook, but does possess a somewhat dark sense of humor.
History
Ed Dour was born on Avalon, in a small town called Riverbend. His parents were lost to illness when he was ten years old, and lived in the care of the town's mayor until he was 15, when he met the ranger Willard Grimaldi. The ranger took him in and trained him in the skills necessary to become a ranger like him, and the two are frequent companions, hiring themselves out to protect travelers.
Personal Life
Ed has few connections left in Riverbend. The old mayor still lives, and whenever his travels take him back to town, Ed is sure to stop in and see him, and also to pay homage to his parents' graves. Otherwise he travels, largely out of a sense of obligation to Grimaldi, whom he says gave him a sense of purpose, and also because he feels a sort of pity for the man, though he'll never admit it.
Special Skills/Abilities
Ed Dour is a trained ranger, with all that that entails. He is a skilled swordsman and an a fair shot with a firearm. Dour prefers scatterguns over rifles. He is a skilled tracker, often making use of this skill when hired by towns or villages to deal with particularly dangerous or aggressive animals. He can live off the land if need be. He's a fair hand with riding chocobos as well. He's also trained in first aid.
