An enormous winged unicorn, Durandal was the Titan who ruled over Winlan and much of the Northern Dragon Dimension during the Time of Titans. Regarded as a benevolent protector, his image is found on a lot of ancient architecture throughout the North. Aspects of healing and chivalry are sometimes associated with him in Winlan; up to and during the Great War period, engraved images of Durandal would often appear on shields, armor and basket-pommel sword-hilts within the Winlanese army. A unicorn's head is also a frequently employed emblem of Krydion users of healing magics.

Durandal in Legends

This Titan was part of the triumvirate of powerful Titans who had dominion over the World of Titans with Tyr's sanction. Later portrayals of Durandal as a patron of healing and benevolence are somewhat skewed by this Titan's lack of a proclivity to be cruel to his subjects; by comparison to his fellows Aluqah and Razboynik, he was probably one of the kindest Titans ever. Durandal did not, however, possess healing powers, nor did he especially go out of his way to protect his people (although he did personally obliterate, on several occassions, armies sent by Aluqah to conquer Tantar). He was a devout servant of Tyr, as all the Titans were.
