Consortium Tower, in the center of Egmont, is the world headquarters of the Kuat Consortium. It over two-hundred stories tall it dominates the Egmont skyline, although it is not the tallest building in the Web. Damien Gavalian knew when he built it that taller buildings would be built later, but he did his best to give the building a distinctive style; it epitomzes the supermodernist style found in Egmont and other many Tasnican cities, featuring lots of gleaming glass and steal, loudly and garishly announcing its own existence. The Tower has several glass elevators mounted on the outside of the building, intended to give visitors the sensation of flying. The topmost parts taper to a needle and are plated in gold; at sunrise and sunset Consortium Tower gives off a bright flash of light like a beacon to the Web.

Consortium Tower also overlooked Gavalian Plaza, featuring a large statue of Damien himself. Gavalian plaza is site of the annual Bauen Jazz Fesival, as well as several lesser community events. Gavalian Plaza is built to resemble Damien’s face, although this is only visible from the highest floors of the Tower.

When the Reklar recently attacked Egmont, the battle culminated with their King, Grendel, scaling the tower.

Notable Rooms:

  • Sylphid Club-The Tower has several large ballrooms to serve for large functions and events; on occassin these are rented out, providing a source of income. The Sylphid Club on the 201st floor is the most prestigious. The large ballroom is so spacious, the cealing is obscured by small clouds. The ballrooms are decorated with a motif of lightning and flight; one of the most famous pieces is a large frieze depicting the history of flight.
  • Etak Room-Used for high level meetings with important external customers, the Etak Room is built to resemble a supermodernist throne room of steel, glass, ultra-tech plastic, and holograms. One wall of the room is comprised entirely of holographic sensors, projecting a constantly shifting, living mosaic.
  • Gavalian Residence-The personal residences of Damien, Emily, and Leisha Gavalian are (naturally) on the top floors of the Tower. Although they have several houses throughout the Web, this is the address they call home.
