It was at this battle that Trubolon, seeking to unite the Highlands once again, was defeated by an alliance of the Hadozee the Angwantibo tribes, Siman forces under the direction of Empereur Tadpoleon, and an assortment of Fringe pirate mercenaries (chief among which, the crews of Marbles Marlowe and Javerl Delors). It is noteworthy because Trubolon's unification of most of the Highlander tribes is considered by most to be a precursor to the rise of the Alter-Dragonian Combine, and the success of the defenders in this battle as the main reason why that conquest remains incomplete to this day.

Going into the battle, the numbers were lopsided in Trubolon's favor. Those on Trubolon's side expected only the terrain to present them with any difficulty; the City of Plinths itself was built atop several naturally-occuring pillar-like standing stones in the midst of a vast badlands. Trubolon had the strength of several clans behind him, and in addition to that his forces were armed and equipped with advanced weaponry provided by the Priman Merchant's Guild. Compared with the other side, the Hadozee clan's native defenders numbered significantly less than the full force of Trubolon's horde, and were armed with little more than spears, knives and crossbows. They lacked any kind of mechanized weaponry, though they were skilled at fighting while mounted on Galesprites. Supplementing these were the refugees from the Angwantibo and Saimiri tribes, who were unskilled at fighting from a flying mount whose numbers combined did little to improve the defenders' odds of survival.

The victory of the defenders is attributed to two major factors: the arrival of Janus Cage with a cadre of pirate mercenaries, and the timely intervention of the Simans on behalf of the Hadozee clan.
