The Big Donut

Someone in some office of topography somewhere clearly thought this would be a hilarious name for the only continent of Dragon III, as the continent is a squarish ring shape (reputedly, "The Big Donut" beat "The Giant Bagel" on a taste test). Before contact with the Web, the natives simply called it "the Continent" as there was no need to distinguish it from any other. Scande lies in the southwest corner of the Donut; Arad in the southeast; the traditional forests of the Forest Clan in the Northeast; and Winlan lies in the central-north region. Tunlan lies inside the donut, inside the cleverly named Interior Ocean. Most of the portals to and from the dimension lie in the equally aptly named Exterior Ocean. Access between the two oceans can be had via two canals: one in Winlan, operated by the Grand Army, and one in Auria, operated by the Scandian League.
