Kamiko is the youngest child of House Kurita, one of the most powerful noble houses in Eblan. Her childhood was steeped in Eblanese tradition -- she even learned Eblanese, rather than Common, as a first language, though naturally she speaks Common flawlessly. House Kurita are known as the "Tigers of Eblan", and to be a daughter of Kurita is to be a warrior born, this so she was also trained traditional kenjutsu swordfighting, martial arts and archery. (...though if he ask about ninjitsu, she will reply that she thinks of herself as a samurai.) Her father was deeply proud of her, calling her "One warrior worth a thousand!" (...an unsubtle hint to her siblings to be more like her.) Kamiko relentlessly strives to excel at all arts suitable to her station, which is quite a long list, but if she doesn't.
At the University of Albrook,she is a triple major in Culinary Arts, Web History, and Child Psychology, these being the areas most likely to make her valuable to a potential husband.
Kamiko is relentlessly polite, which makes her roommates enjoy teasing all the more.
Also, she doesn't like anime. Don't ask her. She will politely decline to discuss it, and she will feel embarrassed for causing social friction.
City of Heroes
Kamiko is a regular sparring partner for both Osprey and Fara (both of whom she has bested on at least one occasion). She is a regular participant in the group's movie nights, and shares Osprey's affection for the films of Ramesh Akesawa. Also, she helped defeat Prism Man. She hasn't "officially" learned that Fara is the Mana Knight...but she totally knows, though of course would never say anything directly. Saying things directly is really not Kamiko's style. Kamiko doesn't join various crazy adventures too much, as she is well aware of the deleterious effect it is having on Fara's grades. (Though, of course, she hasn't pointed it out directly, merely saying things like "A scholarly countenance is advisable for future success.")
