All-Union Communist Party (of the Dragon Dimension)

The All-Union Communist Party (of the Dragon Dimension) is the ruling party of the Scandian League, and the only political party legal in that country.

Many of the old political entities of the Dragon Dimension, such as the Scandish Empire and Aradia Sultanate, were effectively shattered during the Great War. Among the people of the dimension, there was a movement towards a new, unified government, paralleling the rise of Esperian nationalism in the Esper Dimension. The All-Union Communist Party (of the Dragon Dimension) advocated this in combination with the emerging philosophy of communism.

Officially, the "All-Union" party was formed from delegations of various trade and labor unions in 28 WR, combining a number of smaller, similar movements. The original leader of the party, as well as its resident philosopher, was Titodov Penganin. Titodov, one of the most widely published and respected socialist intellectuals in the Web at the time, had spent much of the war in exile, in Centwerp, and returned to lead the movement. Titodov organized the Executive Committee for the Revolution, including in his leadership his lover, Marsha Polenko as well as native Dragon communists like Boris Dalienin and Travin Rumanski. The party organized a nation-wide strike that crippled the corrupt Presidium regime. When the recently-formed Scandian League Combined Military refused to impose martial law, the government collapsed.

Then followed a power struggle between the revolutionaries, as Penganin felt that the revolution should "keep going", and that it was Scande's place to join the Webwide revolution by aligning with Ticondera in the KMT War. The more pragmatic Travin recognized this as suicide, and eventually ousted Penganin. Travin then slowly purged almost all of the original revolutionary leadership, except for Boris Dalienin, as he slowly imposed a totalitarian state.

Today, the party is the de facto government of the Scandian League. Travin Rumanski's power over the country derives from his title as General Secretary of the Party. The party police (Solidat), economic planning apparatus, and even the country's youth organization (Komsomol are all run by the party. The military is the only large, legal organization with an existence completely independent of the party.


Ideologically, the AUCP(ODD)is based on what is known as "The Three Pillars":

  • Solidarity. The Scandian people is one people, regardless of their species or race.
  • Socialism. Means of production are own controlled by all; the state will provide for all.
  • Collectivism. Society as a whole transcends the individual.
