Hylian
Hylians are a humanoid race that originated in ancient Hyland, in the Light Dimension. They largely resemble tall humans (though they tend to be somewhat more slender), with the exception of their long, pointed, Elf-like ears. They do not age as humans do, however, keeping youthful appearances well into old age. In ancient times, Hylians often lived for centuries, but intermarriage with shorter lived races and the resultant diluted bloodlines mean much shorter lifespans in the modern era--though they still outlive humans by a fair margin.
They are a chivalrous and scholarly race for the most part, and to a one talented with magic. Indeed, magic is said to flow in their very veins, believed by Hylians to be a gift of the great Goddesses who created them and their land. In addition to their magical talents, Hylians also possess some measure of psychic ability, whether telepathy, clairvoyance, etc. Hylians often see themselves as a sort of chosen people, though this view has waned with time. Hylian legend states that their ears are long and pointed that they might receive messages from the Gods.
A surefire way to piss a Hylian off is to call him or her an Elf. Despite their uncanny resemblance in appearance, general temperament, and ability, Hylians through the ages have insisted that they are their own unique race, a people chosen and set apart by the Gods. They point to their psionic gifts--something distinctly lacking among the vast majority of Elvenkind--as proof of this.
During the time of Kupopolis Legends, the Hylians are the undisputed masters of the World of Light, having used the Triforce and their formidable magical ability to forge the Hylian Empire. Most of the Dimension is under Imperial control, with the exception being the nomadic barbarian tribes of the West.
